I've been wanting to start a blog about my life in Honduras for a while now, but I was never motivated enough to start one, let alone keep one up. We'll see how it goes. I hope to post something at least a couple times a month.
I thought my first blog (what a weird thing for me to say!) would be about what happened to me the other night after running through the rain and mud trying to get team members into the house, settled, and helping the bus get backed back down the street.
I had been running non-stop for about 2 weeks and I was growing tired and crabby. After I finally got all 7 girls settled into their beds for the night and I was headed there myself, I decided I needed to at least wash my feet off before going to bed. I had after all, ran through some mud and who knows what else. While I was washing them I was thinking how good it felt to have water running over my feet and making them clean once again. It was there in the quiet, mundane part of life that God spoke to me. He often chooses these times to speak. He said, "Amanda (He always starts with my name - love it!), if you think water over your dirty feet feels good, just think how good it would be to have Living Water flowing over you. That is what I want for my people - Living Water. You are to go and help them find it."
A pretty big and humbling task. But oh, what an honor to be able to do so! How about you? do you need Living Water? Do you know of someone who needs Living Water? What's stopping you from giving it to them. Go and give.
Amanda, you have blessed me yet once again by taking the time to share what God is teaching you as you walk the life of a missionary. Keep the blogs coming! :)
